HEARTY HAMBURGER NOODLE CASSEROLE

16 ounce package fine egg noodles
1 1/2 pounds hamburger
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of chicken soup
12 ounces (3 cups) cubed colby or cheddar cheese
3/4 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
chow mein noodles (optional)

cook noodles to desired doneness. drain. heat oven to 350 degrees. in large skillet, brown ground beef and onion. drain. in large bowl combine soups, cheese, milk, salt and pepper. add meat and egg noodles. stir gently. pour into two 2 qt casseroles. cover. bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or until thoroughly heated. uncover. sprinklewith chow mein noodles if desired. bake 10 more minutes.

HAMBURGER STROGANOFF

2 pound hamburger
2 medium onions, chopped (about 1 cup)
1/2 cup margarine
4 tablespoons flour
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons garlic salt or 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 cans (10 3/4 oz) cream of chicken soup
2 cups sour cream

Cook and stir hamburger and onion in margarine until hamburger is light brown. Stir in flour, salt, garlic & pepper. Cook, stirring constantly, 5 minutes. Stir in soup. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes. Stir in sour cream. Heat through. Serve over noodles.
